NOW HIRING: Full-Time CDL Class A or B Driver

Pay: $21+ depending on experience (there is a 90-day probationary period)

Leone Sand & Gravel and Ready Mix is seeking a CDL Class A or B Driver. Leones has been a staple in Trinidad for over 80 years. Delivering concrete, gravel, road base, and other materials across Las Animas and Huerfano Counties here in Southern Colorado.

The purpose of this position is to drive, operate and maintain a ready-mix concrete truck and a tandem dump truck in a safe and professional manner. The person chosen for this position must give special attention to customer service, as this is the point of most frequent contact with our customers. Individuals in this position should be willing and able to provide our customers with quality service, doing all they can to make our customer service the best there is.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with air brake qualification.

• At least 18 years of age.

• Must know how to drive a manual transmission.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on your own.

• Prior heavy truck driving experience preferred, but we will train you.

• Ready-mix truck driving, or related construction experience, preferred, but we will train you.

• Clean driving record

• Ability to pass basic training in safety, quality, and maintenance.

• Must be reliable.

• Must have a telephone or other reasonable means by which you can be contacted daily.

• Ability to provide negative pre-employment drug screen per D.O.T. requirements. Applicants will be required to undergo drug testing prior to employment and may be subject to further drug and alcohol testing throughout their employment as per Leone policy.

• Some mechanical ability to perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and to correct minor deficiencies.

• High school diploma, or the equivalent, preferred.

SCHEDULE

This position is a full-time position. Hours of work are generally 6:00am and 4:00pm Monday through Friday. May be required to work extra overtime hours and weekends as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operates vehicles and maintains personal safety with vehicles

• Performs daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on truck and related equipment for operation and safety.

• Keeps truck in premium operating condition and clean inside and outside.

• Uses sound judgment when setting up equipment on job sites that may be dangerous for the operator, equipment or other personnel.

• Reads and understands delivery tickets, especially regarding delivery location and types and quantity of materials to be delivered.

• Reports back to dispatch using proper communication procedure, on status of job and for other scheduling purposes.

• Reports all mechanical problems with equipment to the proper individual(s).

• Performs a variety of other duties assigned by the plant operator relative to the plant and grounds.

• Performs other assigned duties, and operates other vehicles and/or equipment, regarding the above standards.

• Performs duties in an efficient manner and assures customer satisfaction.
