Material Spreading Policy
The spreading of material upon delivery is offered as a courtesy to our clients. This service aims to enhance the convenience and efficiency of your project. However, it is important to understand that this service is not guaranteed and is subject to certain conditions.
Driver Discretion
Upon arrival at the job site, the decision to spread material lies solely with the driver. Each driver assesses the site conditions and determines whether spreading the material is feasible and safe. Factors that influence this decision include:
Site Accessibility: The driver's ability to maneuver the delivery vehicle safely without causing damage to the site or surrounding property.
Safety Concerns: Any potential risks to the driver, equipment, or site integrity.
Weather Conditions: Adverse weather conditions that may affect the spreading process.
Customer Cooperation
While our drivers strive to meet your needs, your cooperation is crucial. Please ensure that:
Clear Instructions: You provide clear and precise instructions on your expectations for material spreading.
Site Preparation: The site is adequately prepared to receive material, with all necessary clearances granted.
Communication: You are present or reachable to facilitate communication with the driver upon arrival.
Limitations and Considerations
Non-Guarantee Clause: As material spreading is not guaranteed, it is advisable to have a backup plan in place, should the driver be unable to perform the service.
Liability: The company is not liable for any damage or issues arising from the spreading of materials, as this is conducted at the driver's discretion and based on their professional judgment.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation regarding our Material Spreading Policy. Our primary goal is to deliver your materials safely and efficiently while providing the best possible service given the conditions.
Payload Policy
When it comes to transporting materials such as sand, gravel, or landscaping supplies, understanding the payload limits of your vehicle is crucial. Overloading your vehicle can lead to severe damage, increased wear and tear, and potential safety hazards on the road.
While Leone Sand and Gravel & SRG Landscaping provide the materials you need, we are not responsible for any damages incurred from overloading your vehicle. As a vehicle owner, it’s your responsibility to understand and adhere to the payload limits to ensure safe and efficient transportation. By doing so, you not only protect your vehicle but also ensure safety for yourself and others on the road.
Why Payload Limits Matter
Safety Concerns: Overloaded vehicles are more challenging to control, increasing the risk of accidents. The added weight affects braking distance and steering, making it difficult to maneuver safely.
Legal Implications: Exceeding payload limits can result in fines and penalties. Regulations are in place to ensure that all vehicles on the road are operating safely.
Vehicle Damage: Overloading can cause significant damage to your vehicle's suspension, tires, and engine. These components are designed to handle a specific weight, and exceeding that can lead to costly repairs.
Insurance Issues: In the event of an accident, insurance claims may be denied if it's proven that the vehicle was overloaded.
How to Determine Your Vehicle’s Payload Limit
Check the Owner's Manual: The vehicle's manual will provide the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), which is the maximum weight your vehicle can safely carry, including the weight of the vehicle itself.
Look for the Vehicle Identification Label: Often located on the driver’s side door jamb, this label includes important information such as the GVWR and the Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR).
Calculate the Payload Capacity: Subtract the curb weight (the weight of the vehicle without passengers or cargo) from the GVWR. This will give you the maximum payload capacity.
Consider the Weight of Passengers and Fuel: Remember to account for the weight of passengers and fuel when calculating the payload.
Always secure or cover your load!
